Safe + Sound Campaign: As an Employer, Show Your Employees Your Commitment to Safety and Health
Workers are, of course, the heart of every business and your greatest resource, so as their employer, ensure that each employee leaves your job site at the end of a work day in an identical state of well-being that each individual enjoyed at the beginning of each shift. You can get started by scheduling a Safety Walk-Around. OSHA has a Fact Sheet entitled “Safety Walk-Around for Managers,” which provides guidelines that will assist employers in conducting inspections designed to help evaluate the effectiveness of existing current safety and health efforts, and those guidelines include information on effective communication techniques with line, staff, and management concerning job health and safety hazards.
Keeping Connected
As part of the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, OSHA Assistant Secretary Dave Keeling, OSHA Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Amanda Wood Laihow, and team staffed the Department of Labor pavilion on July 2 at the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C., where they greeted visitors and answered questions about OSHA’s efforts to protect America’s workers.
